Prescription lenses
Can you get Samsung Galaxy Glasses with prescription lenses?
What Google / Samsung publishes about prescription lenses, and what to ask before you buy.

The short answer
As of 19 Oct 2026 · Last checked 2026-10-19 · We'll update this at launch.
Samsung and Google call the product "Intelligent Eyewear". "Galaxy Glasses" is the name the press uses (SammyGuru)[9]; Samsung hasn't confirmed a retail name.
- Yes, prescription lenses are planned. Warby Parker said its first line "will incorporate multimodal AI with prescription and non-prescription lenses"[2] and that the first assortment "will support a broad range of prescriptions and lens options"[3]. Samsung's own wording only goes as far as "a range of frame styles, colors and lens options"[6].
- No prescription range has been published. No Samsung, Google, Warby Parker or Gentle Monster page gives a sphere, cylinder or total-power limit (checked 19 Oct 2026).
- Launch: November 2026, no exact date or price. A Samsung official confirmed November to The Korea Herald; pricing hasn't been announced[7].
- How you'd order (reported, not official): SammyGuru reports that in the US Gentle Monster will sell prescription lenses through its website, and in Korea you'll go through a local optician[9]. Samsung's XR R&D head said buyers who need prescription lenses "will be able to have them fitted at optical shops"[8]. Warby Parker hasn't published its prescription ordering route.
- Independent labs: none yet. No lens lab we track lists these frames, which is expected before launch.

How to order in your prescription
Warby Parker frames
SammyGuru reports Warby Parker's frames (Alden, Reid and Wren) will sell in the US only[9]. Warby Parker says they'll support a broad range of prescriptions[3], but hasn't said whether you order them in store, online or both. We'll add the route when it's published.
Gentle Monster frames in the US
Reportedly through gentlemonster.com[9]. One caveat: the site-wide FAQ text embedded on Gentle Monster's US Intelligent Eyewear page says "Gentle Monster does not handle prescription lenses. For prescription lenses, please visit a nearby optical shop"[10]. That looks like generic copy for its regular frames, since Gentle Monster US does sell prescription glasses[11], but it's a conflict we'll check at launch.
Gentle Monster frames in Korea
Through a local optician (reported)[9].
Other countries
Samsung says the first collections launch in "select markets"[5]. No country list has been published.
What we don't know yet
- Prescription range (sphere, cylinder, total power)
- Whether progressives and prism are offered
- The price of prescription lenses
- Whether frames can be reglazed later, or by an independent lab, and whether the warranty survives that
- Turnaround for prescription orders
- Which frames are offered as optical rather than sun only (SammyGuru reports 6 Gentle Monster shapes in 16 versions, and Warby Parker's Alden, Reid and Wren)[9]
- Weight with prescription lenses (SammyGuru reports about 41 g with standard lenses and says Rx "adds a little", with no figure)
Galaxy Glasses vs Ray-Ban Meta for prescription wearers
Ray-Ban Meta has published prescription ranges and several independent labs that list its frames; see Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) prescription lenses and the Ray-Ban Meta max-prescription guide. Galaxy Glasses have neither yet. If you need prescription smart glasses now, also compare Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Oakley Meta HSTN.
Do you need a Galaxy phone?
No. Samsung says the first generation works with other Android phones and iPhones[8], and Gentle Monster's US page says the same[10]. SammyGuru reports that the Galaxy-only extras need a recent Galaxy phone on One UI 9 or later[9].
